Starting the service

If the server is not already started, you can start it manually. From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs > Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX > Start Service. In Windows, to confirm that the service is running, open the Task Manager and make sure both FlashCom.exe and FlashComAdmin.exe are listed in the Processes tab.

On UNIX, open a shell window, change to the directory where you installed Flash Communication Server, and, as a root user, type fcsmgr server start.
